HIGH SCHOOL MEDIA PROJECT

This year’s media course I’m doing now is basically focusing on music video. We started this term by looking at the history of the music videos and how they came about. The whole class researched on the music videos since when it fist came about to the present time. I have learnt that a music video is a short film or video that accompanies a complete piece of music/song, which is why music video came about to the audience. I went on the learn a lot about the music technology for example in the 1950’s the visual jukebox was invented in France and short music films were produced by many French artist. This was then used to spread to other countries and similar machines. After looking at how the history of the music video came about we all went to look at how it had developed and the most expensive music video that was made.
In 1964, The Beatles cemented their newfound international fame by starring in their first feature film A Hard Day's Night, directed by Richard Lester. Shot in black and white and presented as a mock documentary, it was a loosely structured musical fantasia interspersing comedic and dialogue sequences with exciting and innovative musical sequences. The musical sequences furnished the basic templates on which countless subsequent promo clips and music videos were modelled and it has exerted a huge influence on the style and visual vocabulary of the genre.
Michael Jackson and Janet Jackson – scream music video was the most expensive cost because of the spaceship and the gravitational things that was going on etc. I believe that music video has change and how this has changed people around the world because it gets people excited whenever they see a music video of today, but not when it first came out because it was boring then.

We look at different types of music video and then analyse it in details along with the lyrics as well. When we look deep into the music video’s we focus on the message of the song and what the message is trying to draw across to the viewers and listener. The materials also matter in analysing the music videos.

The materials also matters in analysing the music video. Before we started our coursework we had to research on music videos since when it first came out about to the present time. As a whole class we analyse different types of music video and the message of what the artist is trying to spread across to the viewers and audience.
