In our music video we discussed the target audience for our music video and we came up an answer as to young teenagers from 16 and above. This is because young teenagers enjoy the beat and rhythm of the funky tune which is what our music video is.
The music video we will be remaking is called We're Rollin by the K.I.G Family which is on a lot of different music channels.
The reason why I chose to remake this video is because it’s very different to all the other music videos that are put now. I believe that it is a bit harder to make than all the other music videos because it is so much different. However I also believe that the music video is also simple to remake, I say this because I believe that the things we need are very easy to get access to and very cheap if we need to spend some money.
In order to remake the music video we need a lot of people this might be a little hard because a lot of people have different things to do in their spare time. We also need a lot of space and time to remake this video because we want the remake to be very successful.
The video will start off with the music playing non diegetically and at a low volume with just the vocals as it is not the main focus of the video at the start. While the camera shot resolves from black towards the shot of one of our characters in bed. Camera shot then moves to a different house and a close up shot to show the wealth of the next character by showing items such as phones, watches, jewellery and money on a table in the room. This is to stereotype this character as wealthy so that the audience can immediately form an opinion and understanding of the character without having any background knowledge of the character. The character will then have a close shot of the back of him looking in his wardrobe deciding what to wear. The next camera shot will again be a different location showing our third and final main character walking towards the car then getting a phone call from the second character. The conversation is short and sharp, the subject being that of arranging to meet. The phone call is ended whilst the third character is in the car with the door open. A close up shot of him turning on the radio beginning the start of the music diegetically with bass and treble include. The third character then shuts the door with a close up shot of his hand, this shot is then replicated in the very next scene, the camera shot showing him opening the door by the first character having woken, changed and travelled in his own car, this part of the storyline will not be divulged and would be expected to be logically figured out by the audience. This is part of post modernism as the plot isn’t entirely in chronological order.
Our media group decided that our front cover music video would split the cover into four and have our pictures in the each square and our picture would be in black and white. We got that idea from the film cover Scarface when it split the sides black and white. This would relate to postmodern because we are using old style on to the new music CD cover.
In our music video I understand that we had to include a variety of camera shoot like over the shoulder shoot when the camera is filming just over the person’s shoulder, high and low angle shoots. Zoom, zoom out shoots and there are many more that we used that is seen in our music video. I believe that this is important, not lonely we get extra marks but also allow to the viewers to watch shoots in the characters own angle shoot and point of view,
When filming editing was need doing because this allowed use to put the scenes we filmed in order and make it fit and play in the same rhythm as the music. There was a bit that we had to cut out that was not needed and also another reason is because the music video would be long enough to show the full clip. I understand that editing is needed because the programme allows you to add and put in different cool effects, for example when the end of a scene of the music video finished I was able to put in a transition fade effect to make the clip smooth and in rhythm of the music that is playing allow with the clip. Also editing can control the lighting and this I believe is important because I was taught that the high and low key lighting gives suspense to the viewers.
